I wanted to build something different: a fun, snackable learning experience that makes vocabulary actually stick, and feels more like a break than a lesson.
Snackword.ovh is built on the concept of Pet Logicโa unique approach to language learning through a pet's perspective. It's based on the idea that our pets are constantly observing us, translating our complex human world into simple, hilarious truths. By viewing a foreign language through the eyes of a slightly sarcastic dog or a judgmental cat, vocabulary becomes memorable, the idioms make more sense, and the learning happens naturally without memorization tricks.
Built by One Human (and a few AI Friends)
I am a solo developer on a mission to make the internet a little more wholesome and a lot more helpful. To achieve the scale of 11,000+ words across 11 languages, I don't work alone. I use advanced AI assistance to help scaffold the code, generate the initial "Pet Logic" drafts, and produce high-quality audio.
However, the "soul" of the site comes from my own curation. I hand-pick the themes, refine the humor, and ensure that every "snack" you consume is high-quality, accurate, andโmost importantlyโfunny.
